Novel themes are the order of the day in Tamil cinema. A breed of young filmmakers have taken the mantle to try new ideas. Joining the list is Burma.

Directed by newcomer Dharanidharan and produced by Sudharshan Vembutty, Burma is about those individuals who involve in car seizing, a profession unheard of.Michael Thangadurai and Reshmi Menon play the lead role.

Music is scored by Sudharshan M Kumar. Sampath Raj, Atul Kulkarni, Karthik Sabesh and Madhu Raghuram play supporting roles.Burma (Michael) and his friend are car seizers.

They seize cars of loan defaulters and hand it over to financiers. They make some quick money. They have a professional rival in the form of Sampath Raj.

Burma gets an opportunity to work for a dreaded baddie Athul Kulkarni to seize 28 cars.Problems galore as Burma seizes the last, a BMW car. A girl gets murdered and she dies in the car.

Before Michal, his friend and his lover could set things right, the car disappears. What happens then and how the trio go in search for the care forms the end.Call it a good show by Michael.

He gets under the skin of the character to deliver his best. He is apt choice for the role. Reshmi Menon is cute. But scene-stealers are Athul Kullkarni and Sampathraj.

They manage to get the best out them for Burma.Dharanidharan manages to render an engaging film. Though it reminds us of films like Soodhu Kavvum and others, it manages a watch.
