Can a movie be made involving all children? Can the film have all to appease all? Can it be satisfying? Yes to an extent says director Halitha Shameem. Her Poovarasam Peepee is a film that involves students who are on a summer vacation and their daredevil acts.

In the past we have seen children films like Pasanga and Goli Soda. But Poovarasam Peepee is different. It speaks about children from the minds of grown-ups. There is an exaggeration in it. Produced by cinematographer Manoj Parahamasa, the movie has three young kids Gaurav Kalai, Sai Hari and Vasanth playing the  lead.

They excel in their interests. One fin day, the trio spots a gang raping and killing a dhobi woman. They make the villagers believe that the woman had a natural death. The three young boys now vow to bring the gang in to book. They hatch one conspiracy after another to set things right. How they manage to do their act forms the crux.

The life in village, the condition of schools and our education system are brought out well. Arul Dev's music and the director's crisp and simple dialogues add substance to the film. Halitha Shameem had worked as assistant to Pushkar Gayathri, Mysskin and Samudrakani. Gauravm Kalai, Sai Hari and Vasanth excel in their roles.

The trio understands their role and get it right. The dialogues are funny at places tickling your funny bone. But the filmmaker could have avoided some scenes where the children are shown as thinking like grown-up adults.

But for those who are sick of routine cliched cinema, Poovarasam Peepee is different.
