Kaaviya Thalaivan is the new addition to the list of film that will be remembered for a long time. Vasanthabalan, the director of this film has come with an entirely a different story which shows the life of the 20th century artist in the drama company that is named as Sivadasa Swamigal Naadaga Sabha in Tamil Nadu, that is during the pre-independent era.

Kaliyappa Bhaagavathar (Siddharth) and Gomathi Nayagam Pillai (Prithviraj) get trained under the guidance of their guru Saami (Nasser) who is a most respected and prominent person in the field of stage drama. The two become the talented artist and their drama company grows up.

But something goes wrong in their friendship and the competition between them worsen and things gets complicated. The film is all about the relationship between the two artist and this forms the base of this film.

This is said with various emotions like ego, romance, jealous. Will they revive their friendship? That forms the crux of this period drama.

Prithviraj and Siddharth has done a wonderful job and their characterizations was brilliant. Siddharth's performance has really made everyone give an awe with his varied emotions.

Talking about Vedhika's performance, she plays the role of Vadivambal and her performance has won many hearts and seeing her performance everyone say she is the right choice. About Nasser's performance, he always goes into the character and gives best of the bests in each of his films and he was excellent in this one as well.

This film is technically a very sound film that has brought excellent production and not to forget AR Rahman's music stands out and the background music in this film is far too brilliant and has given it a life. Editing by KL Praveen  was clear and it had made the audience stick to the film from the beginning till end.

The amazing cinematography has given the movie the feel of the historic period, the angle and the lightings were brilliant. Along with the art director Santhanam's hard work has payed him well. Art direction was outstanding.

Kaaviya Thalaivan is a must watch movie and the classic is brilliant and it needs all applause and it gives the audience entirely a new experience.

All credits goes to Vasanthabalan for bringing the 20s back alive in front of our eyes.

A Classic Treat
