Young debutant filmmaker Anucharan is bang on target with Kirumi. A movie loaded with thrills and spills that dwells on the plight of a police informer caught between police and criminals form the crux.

Anucharan's battle is won easily thanks to splendid screenplay Manikandan of Kaaka Muttai fame. He seems to have observed the system in which the local L&O police work and given it right shape.

There is no dull moment in the film as it progress in brisk pace from the word go.The characters look real and the situation well re-created on screen. The star cast comprises of talented names that pull it off well.Kathir after Madhayanai Kootam gets to play another meaty role.

His emotion and performance adds weight to the script. Charlie is a surprise packet who pulls it convincingly. Reshmi Menon, Vanitha, Thennavan among others chips in well.Kathir (Kathir) is a fun-loving youth and is never serious about anything. His wife Anitha (Reshmi Menon) and the coupe have a child.

She works to eke out livelihood.Inspired by his neighbour Prabhakar (Charlie), Kathir turns police informer. Initially all goes well until Kathir gets into a tangle over the issue of raid at a gambling den.

Local inspector Soundarapandian (David) and another Inspector Marimuthu (Madhiarasu) after fight come together and the knife is turned at Kathir. He runs for life. What happens then forms the restIt is a writer's success.

The story is told convincingly and enough elements to sustain an engaging watch. All said, Kirumi is a touchy tale with action.
