A sequel for an 1984 movie with three important characters doing their roles again.Visu's directorial Manal Kayiru featuring S Ve Shekher in the lead was a huge hit then, now the family drama gets a sequel.
The movie is about a young man who puts eight conditions for his marriage and how he gets fooled in every aspect of it.The sequel is directed by Madhan Kumar of Yaaruda Mahesh fame.
S Ve Shekher is back and plays a dad this time. Santhi Krishna's role is reprises by Thendarlae Ennai Thodu fame Jayashree. And Visu is Naradhar Naidu. Kuriakose Ranga is there after three decades to play the same role.
Interestingly the sequel revolves around Ashwin Shekher and Poorna, who play lead roles. This time around, Poorna, daughter of S Ve Shekher, puts forth eight conditions for her marriage. She is fooled by Naradhar Naidu, who ensures she gets married to Ashwin Shekher. This forms the crux of the movie.
S Ve Shekher does a great job. Poorna plays a bubbly girl and she is adequate. Jayashree, Visu and Kuriakose Ranga play their part well. Ashwin Shekher does well and he is good in action and humour.
The trio of Swaminathan, Jagan and Chaams manages to bring you laughter.Director Madhan Kumar is a super and funny film that places go dull. At places it gives one a feel of watching a television serial.
Manal Kayiru 2 - Comedy is the core
