Merku Thodarchi Malai is special for its produced by  Vijay Sethupathi and went on to win many awards and accolades in various international film circuits even before it hit the screens officially.

Directed by debutant Lenin Bharathi, the highlight of the movie is that it has music composed by Ilaiyaraaja. As the title suggests, the movie is set in hilly terrains of Western Ghats. It is set around a farmer who works tirelessly.

Three cheers to the director for authentic presentation of events and characters are perfect and pour enough elements through the story. The message is relevant for the society. It speaks about issues craves for attention.

Their culture and life style well depicted.  The filmmaker has incorporated various important details in a subtle manner. The highlight of the movie is Raasi Thangadurai’s crisp dialogues. They are natural and never make commercial compromise.

The script is unique and speaks volumes of various events in a subtle manner. Never goes preachy. Watch out for innocent performance by all artistes. They manage to make a connect with audience.

The highlight of the movie is Ilayaraaja’s music. He is there delivering his best. A couple of songs set the momentum and the story going. The strength lies in background score. It lets the story take its place and silence speaks a lot of sounds.

Theni Eswar’s cinematography is bright and beautiful. The visual are real and engaging. The crisp editing by Kasi Vishwanathan adds more strength to the film. The story doesn't loses his focus anytime.

The movie is engaging and speaks volumes of various affecting them.A producer like Vijay Sethupathi deserve appreciation for gathering guts to bankroll such venture.
