Pa. Vijay, Chandini Tamilarasan
Action for a cause. An indivisual waging war against evils in society. These are pet themes of any mass movie in Tamil cinema. Here comes one more in the list. Interestingly Naiyyapudai is a movie that features veteran filmmaker S A Chandrasekhar at the age of 71 turning an action hero.
Age is no bar to do dardevil action scenes. Directd by Vijay Kiran, the movie is about a retired military officer who fights against bad elements in the society to restore peace and order.Naiyyapudai is a movie that serves a purpose.
IT speaks on the need to be vigilant in the society and to do so one needs no age bar.Written by S A Chandrasekhar, the movie has SAC and lyricist Pa Vaijyin lead roles.
Produced by 6 Faces, the movie has Rajendran, M S Baskar, Aadukalam Naren, Vijau Chandrasekhar, Master Jackson. Chandi plays heroine. Cinematography is by Jeevan and music is by Taj Noor.
Velusamy (SAC), a retired military officer is a fun-loving man. who loves to serve the society. He rescues students hijacjked by kidnappers for a ransom. It is caught in video and it goes viral.
He comes in to contact with a journalist Vijayakumar (Pa Vijay). The two now join hands to fight a bad cop Sathyamurthy (M S Baskar) and a underworld Baby Anaconda (Rajendran).
Three cheers to sac who does wonderful job. He is best in stunt sequences. And mouths punchlines too. And Pa Vijay has a meaty role to do. Chandini is cute. The rest of the cast are adequate.
The high point of the music is by Taj Noor. His BGM fit the scenes well.Interestingly, the film begins well only to end on a cliched note as it progresses. Thanks to SAC and Pa Vijay's good show, it stands tall.
SAC at his best
