Big fat weddings are the norm of the day in our society. Besides the huge spending, the emotional turmoil’s of the girl and boy before they step into the new world is puzzling as well as interesting. Here comes newcomer Nelson.

The debutant filmmaker in Oru Naal Koothu speaks about the stress involved in marriages in an interesting and intriguing manner.Nelson had stated that the story is based on real life incidents and women that he came across in his life.

There are three parallel stories and they are linked together in a wonderful narration by Nelson. Produced by Kananya Films, the movie stars Attakathi Dinesh, Mia George, Nivetha Pethuraj, Rithvika, Karunakaran, Bala Saravanan and Ramesh Thilak in key roles. Cinematography is by Gokul and music is scored by Justin Prabhakaran.

Nelson presents the story rather stories with utmost clarity. There is no dull moment as he ensured that there is enough humor interplead. Mia George plays a dejected girl as her wedding is not arranged by her family, a radio jockey Rithika who cannot get a right partner in spite of thorough search by her brother, Nivetha Pethuraj, who is in love with Dinesh who is not accepted by her family.

What happens in their lives makes up the story.Dinesh looks refreshing and he plays a software professional and comes in formals all through. Ramesh Thilak gets a makeover and plays a bubbly RJ.

Karunakaran and Veteran actor Charlie play their roles well. The trio of Rithivika, Mia George and newcomer Nivetha. The trio gives a splendid show. They elevate the content with a stellar performance and Nelson has managed to extract the best from them.

All said, Oru Naal Koothu is an engaging affair.
