Viddharth, after a prominent role in Veeram alongside Ajith, is back as solo hero with Pattaya Kelappanum Pandiya. Directed by Sura fame S P Rajkumar, the movie is a fun ride set in Pazhani. A fun-loving youth, who goes to any extreme to win the heart of his beloved, forms the crux of the movie.

Manisha Yadav of Vazhakku En... fame plays the female lead while Parotta Soori is the comedian. The movie boasts of a huge star cast that includes Ilavarasan, Kovai Sarala, Imman Annachi among others.

Rajkumar has dished out comedy films like En Purushan Kuzhandhai Mathiri, Ponmanam,Azhagar Malai treads the same path in PKP.T M Moovendhar cranks the camera while music is by Arul Dev and editing by K Thanigachalam.

Imman Annachi owns a town bus in which brothers Viddharth and Soori are driver and conductor respectively. Life goes well for Viddharth until he comes across Manisha, who travels in the bus every day.

He romances her. But she rejects his proposal. Her family situation compels her to stay single. Now it is the turn of Viddharth to share her burden and bring joy back in her family.

Viddharth plays his part well. As an innocent bus driver, he does a good job. Manisha Yadav is okay while Imman Annachi and Kovai Sarala evoke instant laughter. But Soori walks away with all applause.

He is there all through and his comical acts brings the roof down with laughter. However the storyline is too old and oft-repeated in Tamil cinema. A sense of deja vu prevails right from the word go.

Happy journey
