Promising to be a spine chilling thrilling show, Pencil is a decent outing by its crew. The film that hit the screen after several delays managed to make up to the expectation of the audience.
Debutant Mani Nagaraj, a former associate of director Gautham Menon, has not also written the script apart from directing it. In his hands the film looks youthful and colourful.
The happy lives of Siva (GVPrakash Kumar) and Maya (Sri Divya) turn disturbing when a series of incidents in their school cooks up mystery. The duo who are classmates throw pranks on each other.
They like each other and kind of happy with their small romantic escapades. When all seems normal, a series of murders take place in their school. Believed to be the hands of an evil spirit, mystery becomes the order of the day.
This affects the routine of the students who fear for their lives. The rest of the story is about who or what leads to this murder. Does GV and his friends get unhurt forms the crux of the story.
The most beautiful part of the story is the lead pair. They are a romantic couple who are dotting on each other. Their onscreen chemistry is worth mentioning.
GV who apart from acting has also scored the music for the film. His background score is upto the mark and carries his trademark. VTV Ganesh, Urvashi, TP Gajendran, Abhishek, Rahman play prominent characters in the movie.
It has been produced by Ragavesh under Kalsan Movies banner.Although the genre is not new, the maker has made it stand out with his outstanding screen play. Fear is one emotion that the director has managed to get it out.
The lovely posters and trailers that preceded the movie has not failed in the end product, the movie itself. The romantic thriller is a good watch.
Pencil - Splendid show
