Following the footsteps of Sivakarthikeyan, Ma Ka Pa Anand and Robo Shankar, one more star from telly is foraying to cinema. Rajkamal, who hosted several reality shows and was part of many mega serials plays the hero in Sandikuthirai.
A newcomer Manasa is the heroine. Directed by Anbumathi, Sandikuthirai is about the bane of technological advancements. Ganja Karuppu, Bonda Mani and Delhi Ganesh are also in the cast.
Produced by Sunmoon Creations, the movie is set in a rural village. Rajkamal is a potter who is admired and adored by all for his helpful and friendly nature.
He falls for Manasa, a young girl who lives in the village. Unfortunately Manasa's friend dies after her intimate photographs with her boy friend gets leaked. When Manasa comes to know the real culprit behind the act, she gets seriously attacked and her life comes under threat.
The onus is now on Rajkamal to set things right and find the man behind such heinous acts.Three cheers to Rajkamal for pulling it off well.
he is comfortable before the camera and action and romance comes naturally for him. Manasa is a welcome addition to Tamil cinema. She gets a meaty role in her first film and does it convincingly.
Ganja Karuppu plays Rajkamal's uncle and he tries to evoke laughter in vain. Delhi Ganesh plays a character role. The movie harps on a serious issue but gets amateurish as it progresses. Had the director concentrated on the story and avoided sub-plots, Sandikuthirai could have been better.
