At a time when commercial masalas rule the roost in Kollywood, filmmaker Vinodh has opted to take the other way around in his first venture. His Sathuranga Vettai is a movie that speaks about a money and his thirst to earn more and more in his life of course by conning people.

It is the battle between bad versus bad and eventually good wins.  More in the shade of Soodhu Kavvum, Sathuranga Vettai promises aplenty. It created a loud hype prior to its release and indeed it does live upto it.

The movie revolves around a youngster who along with his accomplices takes to all wrong ways to become filthy rich. For him, money is everything under the sun and target is the rich and greedy men around him. He uses his brains to execute his plans and does come up trumps in all his attempts.

Natty, the cinematographer-actor, plays the lead role. He is ably supported by Ishara as heroine. The likes of Ilavarasu, Ponavannan adds value to the script with their performance. With compromising on the message to be conveyed, Vinodh has managed to lace the script with right commercial elements.

A movie that largely boasts of new faces has a griping story and a sequence of events to supplement the same. Vindoh's razor sharp dialogues and the interesting BGM by Sean Roldon adds sheen to the film. Produced by Manobala and released by Thiruppathy Brothers, Sathuranga vettai promises aplenty and delivers them well.

Ishara plays the heroine while Illavarasu and Ponvannan are also in the cast.Gandhi Babu (Natty) is a conman who takes all route to and his accomplice use all tricks in the world to con people and make money. The greedy are their target. He takes all efforts using tricks like MLM, Rice Pulling among others to make money cheating people.

But a woman enters  the life of Gandhi Babu and things go for a change. Gandhi Babu is forced to go the other way one last time in his life. Natty and Ishara play their part well. As a cheater with mice looks, he does give his best.

Illavarasu, Ponvannan and KSG Venkatesh is apt for the role. A tough journey but well covered. Three cheers to  Vinodh and his men. What begins a fun ride ends with an apt message. Three cheers to producer Manobala and his team.

Craze for wealth
