Director Govindamurthy who made films like Karuppasamy Kuthagaidharar and Vedigundu Murugesan, is ready with his next Pappali. The film is a candy floss love story and thare were enough elements in it to woo youngsters.

It is produced by S Ambeth Kumar and A Ranjeev Menon and written and directed by A Govindamurthy. Remember Senthil, who acted to fame in Saravanan Meenakshi. After doing prominent roles in Thavamai Thavamirunthu, Sengathu Bhoomiyile and Kanpesum Varthaigal, he takes to doing a solo hero role in Pappali.

The movie has music by Vijay Ebenezer and the lyrics by Yuga Bharathi. Pappali promises a plenty of comedy. Govindamurthy takes to urban centric film with right mix of commercial elements.

Senthil plays the lead role. Set around a middle class family, the film stars Senthil in the role of a roadside eatery shop-owner. He has o big ambitions in life and he falls in love with Ishara. How he becomes an IAS officer.

What begins as fun ride settles down as an emotional drama. Senthil does his best. He is at his ease before the camera. His comedy act is good. Ishara is tailor-made for the role.

The rest of the cast are adequate. Govindamurthy has ensured that Pappali is laced with a strong message. There are one too many stories and the end product is engaging.

Govindamurthy has managed to make it a movie that is enjoyable at the end.

Comedy Caper
