Vijay Sethupathi, Remya Nambeesan
S. U. Arun Kumar
Nivas K. Prasanna
Playing the role of a police officer is no easy task. Time and again many actors have tried it in Tamil cinema and only a few succeeded.
Joining the list of actors trying their hands to don khakhi is Vijay Sethupathi. In Sethupathi, directed by Arun Kumar of Pannayardum Padminiyum fame, he plays an upright cop.
But it is not just action all the way, but enough elements in the form of a family drama to keep audience glued to their seats. It is about a police officer who is ruthless in his work and love his family the most. Vijay Sethupathi plays a smart-looking cop who means a lot when it comes to work.
And say his family, his heart melts. Remya Nambeesan plays his wife. Their happy chemistry sparkles the screen. We have seen Vijay Sethupathi do comical or serious roles, but to see him as a cop is refreshing.
His performance is intense and he carries the whole burden in his shoulders well.Remya is perfect match. The Pizza couple play a stellar part in the movie.
A man who loves his profession and family meets with a spate of incidents that changes his life. What happens then forms the crux.Nivas K Prasanna's songs and BGM compliment the story well.
Thanks to Sreekar Prasad's crisp editing, the movie proceeds pacy.Interestingly Arun Kumar, who proved his worth as an intense filmmaker in Pannayardum Padminiyum delivers it well.
His handling of a mass theme is good and engages audience.Forget some minor flaws and cliched scenes, sethupathi is a whole-hearted entertainer. Vijay Sethupathi makes it big.
