Sibiraj makes a comeback with Naaigal Jaakirathai, produced by Nadhambal Film Factory. Directed by Shakthi Rajan of Nanayam fame, it has Arundhathi playing the heroine. Dharan Kumar has come up with some peppy numbers.

Sibiraj plays the hero and will be sharing screen space with a military trained canine Itch. Camera is handled by Nizar Shifi and editing by the Praveen K L. Making a movie centered on a dog is no easy task.

A few made in the past were so-so. The likes of Rama Narayanan tried some. But three cheers to Shakti Rajan. In Naaigal Jaakirathai, he has come up trumps with a movie that is engaging and entertaining. The film has some engrossing moments.

Sibiraj dons khaakhi in the film and there is a enough twists in the form of chase, revenge and chilling stunt sequences in the film. The first half is fun while the second half is all but racy chase.

The dog Itch is the real scene-stealer. It sticks to your heart. There are enough acts by the canine that brings one to their seat-edges. Itch is a military-trained dog that comes to Sibiraj, a police officer.

He is initially reluctant to own the dog. But impressed with its acts to nab culprits decides to shower his love on it. Call it an irony, as Sibi's wife Arundhathi gets kidnapped by a gang. Now the onus is on Sibi and Itch to set things right. How they does that forms the rest.

Sibiraj and the dog hog enough limelight.. They have given their best. Arundhathi is cool and bubbly. She emotes her best.

It is Nizar Shafi's splendid camera that sets the ball rolling. K L Praveen's crisp editing is a big strength while Dharan's backgroundscore adds value to the movie.

On the whole, Sibiraj's wait is worth.

Barks loud
