‘Thalaivaa’ is movie directed by AL Vijay, and actor Vijay does the movie hero.  As one sees the title, he or she might think that it is a story intertwined with politics.  But, the name alone is like that.  Otherwise, there is no trace of politics in the movie, director Vijay and actor Vijay have said.

Amala Paul, director Vijay’s favorite actress, has done the heroine for ‘Thalaivaa’.  Also, Sathyaraj, Santhanam, Suresh, and Bollywood actress Ragini Nandwani do important roles in the movie.

GV Prakash has composed the music for the upcoming flick.  There are about six numbers in the movie, and Na Muthukumar has done the lyrics.  Number ‘Vaanganna Vanakkamnaa’ sung by Vijay and Santhanam has already been released in YouTube and the number has turned hit.

Further, they recently shot number with about 250 dance artistes in it.  Cinematography is by Nirav Shah, and the movie is produced by Chandra Prakash Jain.

Shooting for the movie was held in locations as Mumbai and Chennai. The final shooting schedules were held in Australia.  Posters of ‘Thalaivaa’ were released recently and received tremendous welcome.  Also, the teaser was released and has had a viewership of about 15 lakh people.

Same way, trailer of ‘Thalaivaa’ which was released recently has had a viewership of about 2, 643, 500.

In a development, Vendhar Movies has purchased the distribution rights of the movie in Tamil Nadu.  All the schedules for the movie ‘Thalaivaa’ are over, and the movie is set for release.

Since the movie is to hit screens on coming 9th, the movie was sent for certification by the censor board.  The Censor Board gave ‘U/A’ certification to the movie.  The movie crew of ‘Thalaivaa’ maintained that ‘U’ certification should be given to the movie.

The reason is that if the movie hit screens with ‘U/A’ certification, there would be no tax exemption.  Money amounting to crores meant for the producer would go as tax to the government.  With faith that the movie would receive tax exemption, Vendhar Movies had bought the movie’s rights for huge amount.

So, the movie’s producer decided to send the movie to the revising committee.  The movie was screened for revising committee officials. After viewing the movie, the revising committee has given ‘U’ certification to the movie.

Reportedly, about Rs 1 crore has changed hands to receive the ‘U’ certification.  Since there was political intervention against Vijay, the money was given by producer. That is how the issue was amicably settled, say reports.

The movie has crossed numerous hassles and it is confirmed that the movie would be released on August 9th.  Movie ‘Thalaivaa’ is to hit screens on August 9th, which is day of Ramzan Festival.
