Action thrillers are the order of the day. A road journey film or a group of criminals behind a young man for a gain are the stories that dominate Tamil cinema these days.

Now comes Arima Nambi, one more on the list. Three cheers to newbie Aravind Shankar, a former associate of director A R Murugadoss. He has weaved an intense thriller that is doubly interesting and engaging.

Vikram Prabhu, after Kumki and Ivan Vera Mathiri, dazzles in Arima Nambi. A role that is tailor-made for him. He is at his best not just in romantic scenes but stunt sequences too. Though far from logic, the movies provides an interesting watch.

Producer Kalaipuuli S Dhanu in a lvish busget, the movie has Priya Anand playing Vikram Prabhu's ladylove. A blend of director Murugadoss and Shankar movies, Arima Nambi is a perfect foil for those who love action movies.

The movie has music by drummer Shivamani.  The movie begins as a candy-floss love story and settles down to a thrilling fare. Ajun (Vikram Prabhu) is a fun-loving youth, who falls for Anamika (Priya Anand). In their second meeting over a drink, Arjun sees a duo kidnapping Anamika.

He searches for the missing girl only to realise that with the help of police, a gang had kidnapped her for a ransom. She is the daughter of the CEO of a news channel. The channel has footages of a crime which involves a Central Minister Rishi Dev (J DChakravarthy).

Arjun not just manages to rescue the girl but also gets the video tape. There begins the confrontations between the lead pair and the Minister.  Who wins eventually forms the climax.

All credit to Vikram Prabhu, who renders a solid show. He is riveting and entertaining. He manages to hold the attention all through. After a mediocre outing in Ivan Vera Mathiri, he has come good now.

Priya Anand is cute and bully while J D Chakravarthy is apt for the role of villain. M S Baskar plays a clean cameo. Drummer Shivamani's tunes adds pep to the proceedings.

All said, Arima Nambi is an action thriller that is worth a watch.

Perfect action thriller
