Billa II is the upcoming gangster-thriller film of actor Ajith Kumar which is being directed by Chakri Toleti. It is a prequel to the 2007 film Billa and would focus on how an ordinary man David ended up becoming David Billa, the don.

The soundtrack was unveiled on 1 May 2012, coinciding with Ajith Kumar's birthday but the actual audio launch was initially set for April 2012. Superstar Rajini was to unveil the soundtrack but things did not go as planned because of his busy schedule with Kochadaiyaan.

According to kollywood industry circles, Sony Music Entertainment that marketed Ajith's previous film Mankatha's music album, acquired the music rights of Billa II as well for an unprecedented sum after the negotiations which extended for weeks. They did a good job this time around as well.

Let us now see what Yuvan has in store for us in Billa II.

* All lyrics are written by Na Muthukumar.

Gangster
Yuvan Shankar Raja,Stefny

This song, for sure, has typical Yuvan treatment and has lived up to the expectations that were created because of the release of smaller portion of the teaser. We are able to feel the fine little details and nuances in the song.

Idhayam
Shweta Pandit

A very romantic melody number that is sure to be hummed by a lot of teenage girls and boys. This song is sort of a female version of "love at first site" and Shweta Pandit has done a great job. Let us see how Parvathy Omanakuttan delivers in the song and screenplay.

Yedho Mayakkam
Yuvan Shankar Raja, Tanvi Shah, Suvi Suresh

Without an iota of doubt, this is the best song in the album. This party number (club number) is shining with the performances of Tanvi Shah and Suvi Suresh. The song, of course, has the mesmerizing voice of Yuvan, who in the past did phenomenal job in this kind of songs.

Madurai Ponnu
Andrea Jeremiah

This song will become one of singer-actress Andrea Jeremiah's best songs to date and the song will make us cosy because of the backdrop, and Yuvan has used bits and pieces of Mankatha's BGM in this song. This song is expected to set the screen on fire as it is expected to have some sensual dance moves.

Unakkulle Mirugam
Ranjith

This song talks about the bad face of every human being as it revolves around the one line story of ordinary man David becoming David Billa, the don. It has philosophical lines that have in depth meaning that are very essential to run one's life.

Billa II Theme Music
Yuvan Shankar Raja

Yuvan Shankar Raja has re-enacted the legendary theme music of Billa and has given more life and intensity to the already popular theme.

Verdict: It seems like Ajith-Yuvan combo has done it again and there may be a time where Yuvan becomes the official and only music director of his films.
