Abirami Ramanathan volunteers for discussion about ‘Viswaroopam’ issue

Abirami Ramanathan has commented ‘We are prepared for discussion about release of ‘Viswaroopam’. You may call us for discussion.’

‘Viswaroopam’ is a blockbuster movie written, directed and produced by Kamal Haasan. The movie sticks to international standards.  Kamal Haasan is to premier the movie through DTH prior to release in theatres.  Although cine people have conveyed support to his move, theatre owners have raised voice in protest.

The theatre owners have said that Kamal Haasan should abandon the decision to premier the movie through DTH. Else, forthcoming movies by Kamal Haasan, including ‘Viswaroopam’ would be rejected, the theatre owners have warned.  But, Kamal Haasn is resolute about his decision.  Also, theatre owners are resolute about their decision.

In a development, audio launch and trailer launch for movie ‘Ooraatchi Onriyam’ was held in Chennai.  Producer Kayaar spoke on the event: -

‘It has become very difficult for small budget movies to get theatres.  During 2012, more than 140 movies have been released.  Only eight among those turned hits.  Not alone that, 62 movies have been censored, and release of those movies is in pending.’

‘As the scenario is such, issue out of movie ‘Viswaroopam’ is getting magnified.  Theatre owners are saying that they would prevent release of the movie.   The issue should not continue, and an amicable solution should be arrived at.’

Abirami Ramanthan spoke:-

‘Theatre owners rely upon small budget movies.  Kayaar says that we could discuss and settle the DTH issue.  But they did not call anybody other than DTH service providers.  We are ready for discussion. Call us and we would sure come.’
