Action King Arjun raises Anjaneya temple in Chennai

Although actor Arjun makes rounds in cinema as swashbuckling action hero, there is a spiritualist in Arjun.  Now, Arjun’s desire to raise an Anjaneya temple has fructified, and he is into construction of the temple.

An Anjaneya temple is being raised in one acre of land owned by Arjun in Girugambakkam, Chennai.  Already, an Anjaneya idol as tall as 35 feet was raised in Koira district in Karnataka.  The idol, weighing about 160 tons, was made out of a single stone.  The idol was brought to Chennai, and fitted into the pedestal.

The Gopuram (monumental tower) in the temple weighs about 27 tons, and is made out of iron. The raising of the tower happened this morning.

Arjun said that the Gopuram has been designed such that it resembles the Periya Gopuram in Thanjavur.

‘We are into construction of the temple from 2006.  Soon, the Kumbabishekam would carried out’, said Arjun.
