Actor Nassar says that Indian cine artistes should not desire Oscar Award

Actors as Rajesh and Nassar participated in event held during Book Exhibition in VOC Park, Erode.  Actor Nassar answered questions by book readers. Then, Nassar said: -

‘The Oscar Award is given by American Government to movie produced by company registered in America.  Is any cine artiste from abroad lamenting that he has not received prestigious award from India?  No.  Then, why should we desire Oscar Award? And, why should we worry?’

Sivaji Ganesan brought in a new trend in cinema.  He has not received best actor award.  I have been writing a book on acting for four years. It would be such that society would benefit out of it.

Once, director Balachander said that name ‘Nassar’ is very short, and asked me whether he could choose another name for me.  Balachander named lead actors as Rajini.  But, I told him humbly that I cannot change the name fondly given by parents.’
