Rukmini, hailing from Bangalore did movies as Bommalaattam and Ananda Thaandavam.  After a long gap, she does Rajini’s sister in ‘Kochadaiyaan’. 

When asked about how she received chance to do Rajini’s movie, Rukmini said:-

‘The Bharatha Naattiyam that I learnt gave me the chance.  In movies that I did, I got roles such that I could reveal my talent in dance.  Everybody appreciated.  But, I did not get further movie chances.  So, I went to Bangalore and took care of my dance school.’

‘Suddenly one day Rajini’s daughter Soundarya contacted me.  She asked me whether I could do Rajini’s sister in Kochadaiyaan.  I conceded immediately.  During shooting, Rajini showered love like he does to his daughter.’

It is to be noted that Sneha was to do Rajini’s sister in ‘Kochadaiyaan’. But for no obvious reason she dropped out.
