Actress Trisha recommends amends to law for more protection of women

Actress Trisha, on Women’s Day, has said that immediate punishment should be given to those who indulge in crimes against women.

Here are excerpts from interview by actress Trisha: -

‘There are many issues in the society which affect women.  There are major issues as female infanticide, crimes against women and young girls.  News about crimes against women are releasing almost every day.’

‘There should be an end to such crimes and women should be given protection.  Necessary amends need to be made in law.  The changes should happen from the higher strata.’

‘Law should be implemented such that immediate punishment is given to those indulging in crimes against women. The entry by actresses as Kushbu and Radhika into politics is welcome.  There is nothing wrong in taking up politics.  If one needs to come into politics, he or she should be well-wisher of the masses.  I concentrate more on caring for animals.

Many people have contacted me and have said that they too have such initiative.  It makes me happy. I am in cinema for the last ten years.  Only now, they are making movies which give priority to women. The changes have started sprouting.

But the movies are marketed through the hero.  That is the reason why they get more payment.  Movies as ‘Abhiyum Naanum’ and ‘Vinnai Thaandi Varuvaayaa’ that I did gave importance to my character.  There are many rumours about me.  I do not mind those rumours.

I have eagerness to indulge in social service.  I have adopted two children from Udhavum Karangal and am taking care of them.  I will marry when I find the suitable person’, said Trisha.
