Amala Paul speaks of infatuation she had during schooldays

Vijay and Amala Paul have paired up for movie ‘Thalaivaa’.  The movie is encountering hassles with regard to release in Tamil Nadu.  In a development, Amala Paul gave an interview in Hyderabad, excerpts from which are as follows: -

‘I debuted in cine field with name Anaka.  But, they told me that it is difficult for them to call me by that name.  Then, I changed my name to Amala Paul. That name turned lucky. I started receiving many movie chances.

When I was doing schooling, I liked a boy.  I was not able to make out whether it was love.  I desired meeting him often and speaking with him.  That attraction was there for only few days.  As I moved to college, I was attracted to another guy. Since I had not attained mental maturity, I was not able to make out whether it was real love or just infatuation.  Now, that love also has waned off.

My husband should be one who helps everybody. He should understand the other person’s difficulties.

I am from an educated family.  My family desired making me study a lot.  I went for modeling as hobby, and then a Malayalam director spotted me. Thus, I turned an actress.  I went to the theatre to watch my first movie. There were only five people as audience including me.  Then, I made out that I should choose stories and do movies.  Movie ‘Maina’ proved a turning point.

I did a movie with controversial storyline in Tamil.  For the movie, they obscenely pictured me and pasted posters.  I was distressed on seeing the posters.  In cinema, only money matters.’
