Ameer elected FEFSI head in election held in Chennai

The election for FEFSI, the South Indian Federation for film employees happens once in two years.  The election was held today as terms of those governing the FEFSI expired. 

Visu and Ameer contested again for the election.  Siva, Uma Shankar and Murali contested for general secretary post.  Celebrities contested for post of associate general secretary.

In FEFSI there are 23 unions.  There are 25000 employees in FEFSI.  In the election which was held in the premises in Vadapalani, heads, secretaries and treasurers from every union voted. 

Counting commenced with completion of voting.  Totally 68 votes are registered.  Since Bharathi Raja’s vote was controversial it was removed.  Announcement was made after counting.

It was announced that Ameer wins the election by getting more votes than Visu who contested against him.  Ameer earned 37 favourable votes.  Visu got just 28 votes.  Ameer won at a difference of 9 votes. 

Ameer’s supporters are celebrating his success in the election.
