Amitabh Bachchan refuses Rs 50,000 pension offer from UP govt

Amitabh Bachchan and his family members refused to accept Rs 50,000 pension from Uttar Pradesh government. He said he will write to UP CM and appeal him to redirect the amount towards charitable schemes.

Earlier Uttar Pradesh government declared that Amitabh Bachchan, his wife Jaya Bachchan and their son Abhishek Bachchan would receive Rs 50,000 every month. The Bachchans were declared the beneficiaries of the state government's latest pension scheme, which grants Rs 50,000 per month for life, to people who have been awarded the state's Yash Bharti Samman. However, the Bachchans, who are considered to be first family of Bollywood, refused to accept the offer.
