Cases against movie ‘Vishwaroopam’ to be withdrawn today

All the cases upon movie ‘Vishwaroopam’ are to be dropped today.

Already, Kamal Haasan’s side filed case with Chennai High Court for removal of ban upon movie ‘Vishwaroopam’.  A petition was filed on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government against case filed by Kamal Haasan.

The magistrate, who heard arguments from both sides, lifted the ban upon movie ‘Vishwaroopam’.  An appeal was filed on behalf of the Tamil Nadu Government against the order by the magistrate.

Temporary Chief Magistrates as Dharma Rao, and magistrate Aruna Jagadeesan heard the case and imposed ban upon movie ‘Vishwaroopam’ again.

In a development, Muslim outfits and Kamal Haasan discussed and they have arrived at amicable solution.  Kamal Haasan has conceded removing about seven objectionable scenes in the movie.  The discussion was held presided by Home Secretary Rajagopal and government officials.

Both of the sides signed a written agreement.

Muslim representatives conveyed that cases and protest against movie ‘Vishwaroopam’ would be withdrawn.  Also, Kamal Haasan conveyed that he would withdraw the case.

The case is coming for hearing in the High Court.  Petitions would be filed separately by Kamal Haasan’s side and the Muslim outfits.  It would be mentioned that a settlement has been arrived at outside the court, and that the cases would be withdrawn.

Also, Tamil Nadu Government would file petition that the ban upon movie ‘Vishwaroopam’ has been lifted and that the already filed case is withdrawn.

It is anticipated that the magistrate would accept these petitions and bring an end to the case against ‘Vishwaroopam’.
