 ‘Chennai Express’ earns 100 crore in collection within four days of release

Hindi movie ‘Chennai Express’, starring Shahrukh Khan was released in theatres on August 9th. Within four days of release, the movie has earned Rs 100 crore in collection.

Shahrukh Khan and Deepika Padukone have paired up for the movie ‘Chennai Express’.  The movie hit screens in 3, 500 theatres across the globe. 

Tamil movie ‘Thalaivaa’ pairing up Vijay and Amala Paul did not hit screens in Tamil Nadu due to certain reasons.  Also, Telugu movie starring Pawan Kalyan did not release following Telangana issues.  As both of the movies have not hit screens, theatres which had been booked for those movies released ‘Chennai Express’. 

In Chennai alone, the movie ‘Chennai Express’ is running in about 30 theatres.  Also, the movie has released in small towns in Tamil Nadu.  The movie has hit screens in about 3, 500 theatres across the globe, and is heaping huge collections. 

 
The movie earned Rs 33.12 crore in collection on day of release, Rs 28.05 crores on second day, and Rs 32.50 crores on the third day.  The movie earned Rs 6.75 crores in collection during special screening on Thursday.  The collection has touched Rs 100 crores. 
 

Thus, the movie has earned Rs 100 crore in collection across the globe within four days of release.

Thus, movie ‘Chennai Express’ has made a box-office record in Bollywood.
