Court sends notice to actor Vikram regarding complaint petition by individual

A notice has been issued to actor Vikram in the case related to ban of title ‘Karikalan’ for his forthcoming flick.  The Chennai city civil court has issued the notice.  An individual by name Rajasekar hailing from Porur, Chennai, has filed a petition in Chennai 15th city civil court.  The petition is as follows:

‘I have composed music for a documentary film ‘Piriyamudan Pirivom’ and for televisions serials.  Chola king Karikalan built the first dam in the country.  I went through his history and I loved it.  But in history pages there is no detailed mention about Karikalan.’

‘I took the gist of his life and wrote a story.  I titled the story ‘Karikalan’.  I approached assistants of Rajini and Vijaykanth for cast in the movie.  I related the story to several people.  I registered the title in South Indian Film and Commerce federation in 1996.  I was not able to renew the registration in spite of several attempts.’

‘Silver Line Productions is producing ‘Karikalan’ movie starred by Vikram.  The director for the movie is Kannan.  If the movie with the title is released it will result in irreparable loss for me. My cine career will be hampered.  So ban should be imposed on the movie.’’

Judge Vijaykanth took up the petition.  He has sent a notice to Vikram, director Kannan and Silver Line Company to file a reply petition by January 12th.
