Director Ameer requests Tamil Nadu CM to avoid film festival

Director Ameer has made a request that Chief Minister Ms. Jayalalitha should abstain from presenting herself in the 9th International film festival.  Director Ameer in his letter regarding this to Chief Minister Jayalalitha has mentioned ‘The film committee has sent a request to the chief minister to participate in the occasion.’

‘In truth, quality Tamil movies including ‘Then Merku Paruvakatru’ and ‘Sengadal’ have not been considered.  And, movie selection has been made on basis of popularity.  This fact is saddening.  Having rejected a national award winning movie wherein a fund of as much as Rs. 25 Lakhs has been received from the government, there is an obvious partiality.  So Chief Minister should reject the occasion.  The film festival committee should abstain from making such impartial decisions in the future.’
