Director Shankar explains wrong reports about movie ‘I’

Director Shankar has explained some wrong reports about movie ‘I’.

Recently in an interview, hero for movie ‘I’, Vikram, had said that budget for movie ‘I’ is Rs 150 crores and that the movie is the most magnificent one in India.

Doubts arose as to whether there would be that much marketing for the movie if it is true that the budget touches Rs 150 crores...  Also questions arose as to whether Vikram has that much opening in India.

In a development, director Shankar has explained reports about budget for movie ‘I’.  Shankar has blogged his comments about movie ‘I’.

‘The movie ‘I’ has been done with budget lesser than Rs 100 crores.’

‘There is no truth in reports that sets resembling those locations in China have been raised in Kodaikanal.  We have shot scenes in actual Chinese locations.  Chinese Government permitted us to conduct shooting in Chinese locations we desired.’

‘We have shot the movie in locations in China, Bangkok, Jodhpur, Kodaikanal, Pollaachi, and Chennai.  We have done two third of the movie.  We have shot four song sequences, and three action scenes.’

‘Also, Richard Taylor and Peter Jackson from Weta Workshop, who were into movies as ‘Avatar’ and ‘Lord of the Rings’ are into the movie ‘I’, said Shankar.’
