Could you believe that comedy actor Karunaas demands a salary of Rs. 75 lakhs to do hero for movie? But that is the plain truth.  Karunaas who currently does ‘Machchaan’ directed by Shakthi Chidambaram, and also is into movies as RagaLapuram and Chandamama, is into efforts to do hero for other movies.

In a development, movie ‘Machchaan’ starring Karunaas has been marketed for Rs. 4.5 crore.  So, Karunaas seems to be contemplating marketing the upcoming flick RagaLapuram for Rs. 5 crore.  So, only after release of RagaLapuram, the movie Machchaan is to be released.

Karunaas has made use of the opportunity and has sharply hiked his remuneration.  It means that if any director approaches him for story discussion, he says firmly that he would do the movie only if he is paid Rs. 75 lakhs.

Due to the steep hike in pay, directors who were making stories for Karunaas are highly dissatisfied.  Few among these go for alternatives as Satyan and Singampuli who are busily into movies.
