Kamal Haasan presents complaint petition to DGP

Actor Kamal Haasan met the police DGP and presented a complaint petition demanding security for him.


Kamal Haasan’s ‘Viswaroopam’ is to be premiered through DTH the coming Jan 10th.  The movie is to be released in theatres the next day.  There is strong protest among theatre owners against premiering of ‘Viswaroopam’ through DTH.  Theatres owners have announced that they would not release the movie ‘Viswaroopam’ in theatres.  But, beyond all that, Kamal Haasan is resolute about premiering of the movie through DTH.  The move by Kamal Haasan has triggered huge anticipation among Tamil Nadu cine fans. 

In a development, actor Kamal Haasan presented himself in the DGP office on Sunday at 12 in the noon.  Kamal Haasan met DGP TK Rajendran and presented a complaint petition with regard to issues surrounding ‘Viswaroopam’.  Later, Kamal Haasan spoke to reporters.  Kamal Haasan spoke: - 

‘Some are protesting against my doing profession honestly.  Movie ‘Viswaroopam’ would be premiered through DTH as scheduled.  The next day, the movie would be released in more than 200 theatres.  The number of theatres could increase.  With motive to hinder screening of ‘Viswaroopam’ through DTH, some threaten that power supply will be stopped.  I have mentioned their names in the complaint petition. Regarding this, I have spoken to Home Secretary.  Moreover, as movie ‘Viswaroopam’ is released, I have requested for security in front of theatres.’

Answer: - There could be names of cine people.  I am also in cinema.

Following visit of Kamal Haasan to the DGP office, police personnel were posted in front of the two gates.  Nobody, including reporters was allowed inside the premises. 

Head of Theatre Owners Association for Coimbatore, Tiruppur Subramaniam, has announced that the movie would be screened in 36 theatres in Coimbatore.  In Chennai, movie ‘Viswaroopam’ is to be released in theatres as Satyam, Devi, Escape, Inox, Pilot, M.M., Perambur S2, Kolatthur Ganga, Padi Sivasakthi, Padi Radha, Poonamallee Sundar, Anakaputhur Wellco, and Porur Gopalakrishna.  DTH service providers as Airtel Digital TV, Reliance Big TV, Tata Sky, Videocon, and Sun are to premier the movie through DTH on coming Jan 10th.
