Actor Kamal Haasan spoke in FICCI conference in favor of hike in cinema ticket fares. The two day FICCI conference commenced in Chennai. The federation’s head – actor Kamal Haasan said in his address:-
‘Everybody says that cine ticket fares are shooting up. In fact, the cine ticket fares are lesser than cost of cool drinks being sold in developed countries.’
‘In India cinema is just an entertainment. It is not a priority. A commoner is not affected by hike in cine ticket fares. People purchase jeans for even 10, 000. For a tea, either they go to roadside teashop or even to Five Star Hotel. It depends on individual choice and affluence. This works out with cinemas also. I support the hike. Regarding power outages, Kamal Haasan commented that the basic infrastructure is not proper. Resultantly, the power outages’ said Kamal.
Kamal Haasan answered the question regarding the present scenario of Tamil cinemas:-
‘I do not know Tamil cinema’s current scenario. But I desire taking Tamil cinemas to world standards’ said Kamal.
