Regarding this Panneer Selvam, the General Secretary has released a statement.

‘The Theater owner Association strongly condemns the conduct of Kerala government in the ‘Mullai PeriyaaRu’ issue.  We have decided to close the theaters so that we covey our protest, and also, we represent the emotions of Tamil people, we assert the stand of chief minister Jayalalitha, and we stand by her side in strengthening her power relating to this issue.’

‘The theaters in cities from Chennai to Kanyakumari will be shut that day.  In those theaters, the shows for the day will not be screened.’
