Magistrate suggests discussion as ‘Vishwaroopam’ issue awaits verdict

As Muslim outfits protest against movie ‘‘Vishwaroopam’’, the Tamil Nadu Government has imposed ban upon release of the movie in theatres.  


Kamal Haasan filed case with the court demanding lifting of the ban upon movie ‘‘Vishwaroopam’’.  Magistrate Venkatraman heard the case.  Also, the magistrate issued order that the verdict would be delivered after viewing the movie.  
The movie ‘Vishwaroopam’ was screened to the magistrate in Prasad Lab Preview day before yesterday.  The magistrate viewed the movie in presence of other lawyers.  


The hearing into case with regard to ‘Vishwaroopam’ came for hearing today.  It was anticipated that the verdict would be delivered today.  Following this, lawyers, ‘Vishwaroopam’ crew and Kamal Haasan’s fans gathered before the court.  As precaution, police personnel have been posted. Police have been posted in front of Chennai Fort, Government offices, and flyovers.  It was anticipated that the movie would be released after removal of controversial scenes.  There are scenes in the movie showing terrorists slitting the throat of commoners.  Then, the holy book of Muslims Quran is shown in the movie.  Muslim outfits have conveyed protest against the scene.  It was expected that the ‘Quran’ scene would be removed.  


As the case came for hearing in court today, magistrate suggested that both the sides go for peaceful discussion and arrive at amicable decision.  Also, the magistrate issued order that Kamal Haasan meets government officials and discusses.  The verdict has been postponed to tomorrow (Tuesday).
