Malaysian Home Ministry imposes ban upon ‘Vishwaroopam’

Movie ‘Vishwaroopam’ was released in Malaysia yesterday. Malaysian Home ministry hasimposed interim stay upon Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vishwaroopam’. Head of Association for Malaysiaresident Indians has stressed that the ban upon the movie be lifted.


There is interim stay upon Kamal Haasan’s ‘Vishwaroopam’ in Tamil Nadu. The movie hasprovoked tremendous protest in Sri Lanka and gulf countries. The movie encountered similarproblem in Andhra and Karnataka. The movie Vishwaroopam hit screens in Malaysia yesterday.As celebrities favour Kamal Haasan, they pointed out that the movie is released in Malaysia aftercensoring.


The Malaysian Home Ministry has accepted demand by Muslim outfits there and has imposedban upon the movie Vishwaroopam. The movie’s screening has been stopped. There is demandby Association for Malaysia resident Indians to lift the ban upon the movie.


The association’s head Udhaykumar spoke:- ‘Many Hollywood moviesresembling ‘Vishwaroopam’ have been released in Malaysia.’
. ‘Kamal Haasan has revealed the reality in the movie. The ban upon the movie is notacceptable. Ban upon ‘Vishwaroopam’ should be lifted.’
