Manithan is a non-controversial: Udhayanidhi

Udhayanidhi Stalin's Manithan will be out next week. Directed by I Ahmed of Endrendrum Punnagai fame, Manithan is produced by Udhayanidhi under his banner Red Giant Movies.

Besides Udhaynidhi, there is Hansika, Radharavi, Prakash Raj, Aishwarya Rajesh, and Vivek. Diaglues are written by Ajayan Bala. Music is by Santosh Narayanan and Madhie cranks the camera. Selvakumar is in-charge of the art direction.

Manikanda Balaji takes care of editing. Says Udhay, 'Manithan is a court room drama dealing with socio issues and is loosely based on real incidents. A remake of Hindi hit Jolly LLB, but with enough changes to suit the regional audience'.'Actually, Ahmed and I were planning a rom-com titled Idhayam Murali.

As the pre-production work began we knew it demanded more time and bigger budget. It was Ahmed who suggested me to watch Jolly LLB. He came up with the idea to do the Tamil version. I watched the movie and was floored.

I readily agreed to his idea. And once we got veterans like Prakashraj and Radharavi in the cast, I thought we had a winner in hand'.
