Megahit movie ‘Agni Natchathiram’ of late 80’s to be remade

The movie ‘Agni Natchathiram’, directed by Maniratnam and for which music is by Ilayaraja, was released in the late 80’s and turned a huge hit.  Now, the movie is to be remade.

The special aspect of the remake is that the movie has sons of Prabhu and Karthik doing the remake.  It is to be noted that Prabhu and Karthik did the movie ‘Agni Natchathiram’.

Ramesh, of ‘Balaji Real Media’ is entitled to the remake of the movie.

Prabhu’s son Vikram Prabhu is currently doing movie ‘Kumki’.  Discussions are being held to star him in the remake once current schedule is over.  Also, Karthik’s son Gautam Karthik is currently into movie ‘Kadal’, a direction by Maniratnam. Also, arrangements are being made to put him into the remake once the schedule is over.

Regarding this, producer Ramesh said ‘We are into efforts to remake ‘Agni Natchathiram’ starring Prabhu and Karthik’s son.  We have spoken to both sides.  Soon we will divulge information.’

Anand Theater Umapathi did the villain.

Currently, one could do remake casting anybody.  But would the magic of the songs work out again…?

Let us see…
