Nadigar Sangam's request to govt

Nadigar Sangam has urged Tamilnadu government not to remove former Chief Minister Karunanidhi's name from the Sivaji statue kept at the actor's Sivaji mani mandapam.

A resolution was passed at the 64th annual general body meeting of the association yesterday in which they thanked the government for erecting a memorial for thespian, but it would be unfair if the name of Karunanidhi was removed from the statue.

It may be recalled that the statue was erected by former Chief Minister a few years ago in Kamaraj Salai. It was later removed following High Court order and now kept at the memorial.
