NCP women’s wing files police complaint against Salman Khan for his ‘raped woman’ remark

Bollywood superstar Salman Khan is facing criticism for comparing himself to a raped woman quoட் while talking about filming wrestling scenes for his forthcoming film Sultan.

The 50- year-old actor has been slammed on social media for an insensitive comment that trivialise rape.

Khan made the comparison during an interview to promote Sultan, in which he plays a wrestler. While shooting, during those six hours, there’d be so much of lifting and thrusting on the ground involved.

That was tough for me because if I was lifting, I’d have to lift the same 120 kilo guy 10 times for 10 different angles. And likewise, get thrown that many times on the ground.

This act is not repeated that many times in the real fights in the ring, Khan said. When I used to walk out of the ring after the shoot, I used to feel like a raped woman. I couldnt walk straight.

Though Salman Khan has not issued any statement after the controversy, his father Salim khan apologised on his behalf. "Undoubtedly what Salman said is wrong, the simile, example and the context. (But) the intention was not wrong, he tweeted.

The women activists, wearing black ribbons, staged a demonstration at a square near the police station.

They warned of street protests if an offence was not registered against the actor, who courted controversy after saying his filming schedule for Sultan was so gruelling that he felt like a “raped woman”.
