Party members agitate demanding deletion of derogatory dialogue in Nanban

Members of Indian Democratic Party conducted agitation before theater in Salem screening ‘NaNban’ alleging that a derogatory remark was made against party leader Pachamuthu.

‘NaNban’ is a movie directed by Shankar and starred by Vijay, Jeeva and Srikanth.  This movie was released all over Tamil Nadu on January 12th.  In Salem, the movie was screened in 11 theaters.  Members of Indian Democratic Party gathered in front of ARRS multiplex theater in Salem and conducted agitation stressing deletion of derogatory dialogue.  Due to this there was unrest in the area.  Police were immediately posted.  In the commotion ensuing that the party members smashed the theater glass.  Due to this there was a stampede.  Police calmed the crowd and pulled them out of the area.

Police personnel headed by Deputy Commissioner of Police Raveendran and Assistant Commissioner of Police Kamaraj were posted in front of the theater.  Due to the commotion that ensued the theater management announced cancellation of evening and night shows for the day.  Following this the crowd dispersed.  They stressed that until the concerned scene is removed they will continue with agitation.
