Piracy problem for PVR

The PVR chain of theatres has lended in soup for the alleged release of pirated version opf Suriya starrer 24 from  PVR theatre in Bangalore, shot illegaly on first day of the movie's release.

or ‘24’, the film’s Tamil Nadu distributor Gnanavel Raja has found through Qube that the source of the pirated DVD print is PVR Orion Mall, Bangalore.

Shocking fact is that PVR is one of the reputed multiplex chains in India, which has ultimately become as the prime source for piracy. Using the software, they have found that someone has recorded ‘24’ on the first day first day show (9.45 AM, May 6) at PVR Orion Mall, Bangalore.

The distribution house says that the piracy must have definitely happened with the knowledge of the operator because a separate cable has been used to record audio. It is rather interesting to note that moviegoers are thoroughly checked before entering into PVR premises.

As of now, Studio Green has cancelled the ‘24’ license issued to PVR screens in Tamil Nadu and after consulting with the producers’ council, a strict action is likely to be against the multiplex. Hence he has chosen to poull the movie out from the PVR Screens.
