Power Star appears in court in cheque fraud case, hearing adjourned

Actor Power Star appeared in Madurai Court in case with regard to cheque fraud.  Ganesh, hailing from Madurai, had given loan of Rs 9 lakhs to Power Star. Power Star promised that he would pay back with interest in two months.

But, Power Star did not pay back on time.  Later, he presented a cheque as repayment of loan.  As Ganesh deposited the cheque in the bank, the cheque bounced on Feb 6th as there was no money in Power Star’s account.  Ganesh filed case in Madurai court that Power Star defrauded him of the amount.

Although the court issued order for Power Star to appear, he did not present himself in the court.

As the case came for hearing on March 29th, magistrate issued arrest warrant such that Power Star cannot come out on bail.

Following issuance of the arrest warrant, Power Star presented himself in court on 8.04.13.  Power Star said that the accusation is false, and that Ganesh, his car driver had stolen his cheque and that he resorted to fraud.  Also, Power Star added that Ganesh has filed case to malign him.

The magistrate has adjourned the hearing into the case to April 25th.
