Privilege for artistes who dub for themselves, says Directors Association

The Tamil Nadu Directors Association has announced that privilege would be given to actors and actresses who dub for themselves and act in movies.  Also, the Directors Association added that stringent action would be initiated against actors and actresses who do not properly allocate call-sheet and action would be taken if they fail to cooperate.

Here are details of resolutions to be hailed by the Tamil Nadu Film Directors Association: -

  • There has been revision of monthly wages of film employees.  This is the first time that monthly remuneration for members of our association has been confirmed.

  • Every year, through the Directors Association, about 1000 eye donations would be conducted.

  • We had requested for a place in South Indian Film Chamber of Commerce for our Directors Association office.  We convey our thanks to them for saying that our demand is justified, and that it is acceptable.

  • Like in Visual Communication classes, for our association members to take short films, we would present them with 5D cameras, and we would provide them editing and rerecording facilities.  Also, like with ‘Naalaya Iyakkunargal’, we would approach a television channel and make arrangements for telecast of their short films.  Also, we would facilitate broadcasting of the short films in Film Festivals held in Tamil Nadu.

  • Actors and actresses should properly allocate call-sheet. Those who do not cooperate would be charged with noncooperation in work.

  • Priority would be given to actors and actresses who give their own voice in dubbing and act in movies.

Here are added resolutions adopted by director V Sekar:

  • Henceforth, without becoming a member of Directors Association, one cannot become director or assistant director.

  • Financial aid for family of deceased member would be hiked to Rs 1 lakh.

  • When members furnish their ID card, police should treat them in dignified manner.  For the purpose, a letter should be obtained from police commissioner.
