Producer states that he would incur loss if ‘Thalaivaa’ is not released

Chandraprakash Jain, producer of movie ‘Thalaivaa’, has released statement with request to Chief Minister Jayalalithaa.  The statement by Chandraprakash Jain reads as follows: -

‘Amma… I am a movie producer.  I have produced two movies before, and have released those movies in a commendable manner.  I have earned name as good and honest producer in Tamil cine field.’

‘I took up efforts for four years, and got Vijay’s call-sheet. Then, I borrowed loan amounting to crores, and made ‘Thalaivaa’.’

I signed up agreement with distributors that I would release the movie on 9.8.2013.

Two days before release of the movie, somebody forwarded threat to theatres demanding that the movie should not be released.  Following the threat, theatre owners hesitated to release the movie on August 9th as scheduled.

The same day, the movie hit screens abroad, in other Indian states as Kerala, Karnataka and Andhra.  But, in Tamil Nadu alone the movie has not been released.

Now, the pirated VCDs of the movie are releasing in internet.  Thus, situation is such that I would incur loss amounting to crores.  If the movie does not hit screens this week also, i.e., on 16.8.2013, I would not be able to repay debts.

Those distributors and theatre owners who purchased the movie are mentally stressed out and have incurred loss.

So, I humbly request that Chief Minister Jayalalithaa sympathizes with us, and initiates action such that the movie is released tomorrow, on 16.8.2013.
