‘Raanjhanaa’ banned from release in Pakistan

Dhanush is noted actor in Tamil cine field. He has debuted in Hindi cine field through ‘Raanjhanaa’.  The movie is directed by popular director Anand L Rai.  Sonam Kapoor pairs with Dhanush for the movie. Music composition for the movie is by AR Rahman.

Movie ‘Raanjhanaa’ is heaping collections in India.  But, the Pakistan Censor Board has banned the movie from release.  Also, Pakistan has labeled the movie as one with contradictory storyline.

Amjad Rasheed, who is the CEO of IMGC Global Entertianment, received the distribution rights for release of the movie in Pakistan.
Amjad Rasheed spoke: - ‘In letter we received from Pakistan Censor Board, it was stated that there is ban on release of the movie in Pakistan.’

Also, he said that the reason for ban is that a Muslim girl romances Hindu guy in the movie.  It is to be noted that Sonam Kapoor does Muslim girl and Dhanush does Hindu guy in the movie.

The movie was scheduled for release in Pakistan during last week of June.  Pakistan singer Shiraz Uppal had sung the title song for copy of the movie in Pakistan.  AR Rahman had composed music for the title song.

It is to be noted that ‘Raanjhanaa’, which hit screens in Indian the last June 21st, has heaped collection of more than Rs 50 crores.

Previously, hit movies as Ek Tha Tiger, Gi Joe, and Agent Vinod were banned from release in Pakistan.   The Pakistan Censor Board has quoted reason that the movie  Raanjhanaa delivers message against Pakistan.
