Radharavi and Sarath Kumar face the heat as petition is filed against them in High Court

‘Radharavi and Sarath Kumar who are relatives are misusing artistes association’s property.  So ban should be imposed upon their holding the post.’ This is the petition artistes association’s member Poochi Murugan filed with Chennai High Court.

The petition has been jointly filed by Poochi Murugan and artistes’ association member Kaja Muhaideen.

‘In Habibullah road, T Nagar, Chennai, there is a land measuring 18 grounds which is owned by artistes association.  The current value is 150 crore.  There is participation by K Subramanian, NS Krishnan, Sahasranamam and late Chief Minister MGR, and Sivaji in raising building in the land.

‘Unheeding individual feelings of members and not obtaining consent from members, the building was razed down.  This is misuse of power and also betrayal of faith towards welfare board.’

‘The welfare board’s intent is to provide education to family of poor artistes, providing for medical expenses.  The welfare board functions under Radharavi and Sarath Kumar.  Both are relatives.  Their activities have raised question among many members.’

‘The welfare association’s board has not been raised.  Both of these make decisions with regard to welfare board.  Radhavaravi has passed on the lease of the property to Sarath Kumar.  There is also a power of attorney which has been transferred to Sarath Kumar.’

‘These people do not have authority to carry out such activities.   Moreover in 2010, lease for property worth 150 crore was passed on to SBI Cinema Company.’

‘Sarath Kumar and Radharavi are not entitled to exchange of properties without appointing the board for welfare association.  After carrying out the lease agreement, a general body meeting was gathered and agreement was obtained.  No proper permission has been obtained.’

‘Both have functioned without creating the board.  So, order should be issued to make null and void the lease which Sarath Kumar and Radharavi gave to SBI Cinema Company.’

Judge Subbiah, who went through the petition, issued order to issue notice to both Sarath Kumar and Radharavi.
