Rajapart Rangadurai to be re-released for Deepavali

Joining the long list of yesteryear classics being digitalised and re-released is Rajapart Rangadurai. A yesteryear Sivaji Ganesan classic, the movie is being given colour correction and digitally restored with enhanced audio.

Says Balakrishna, who is bankrolling the venture, 'It narrates the story about a poor drama actor. It is a film on theatre artists who in time have been ignored, they play all roles from mythology characters to patriotic leaders but fail to appeal a modern genre of viewers who part their ways to more glamour and glitter'.

'It is a symbolic film of past being rejected by the present and love and affection have no place in a selfish world. Sivaji Ganesan appears as Bhagat Singh, Tiruppur Kumaran and even Lord Murugan in the movie'.

Directed by P Madhavan, Rajapart had music by M S Viswanathan and lyrics by Kannadasan. The movie had Ushanandini, M N Nambiar, V K Ramasamy, Manoramaand T K Bagavathy in the cast. The songs Ammamma Thambi Endru, Inqulab Zindabad, Madana Maligayil were chartbusters.
