Kamal Haasan is reconsidering the long awaited ‘Marudanayagam’ venture. There is surprise in wait.  Kamal Haasan intends casting Superstar Rajinikanth in the movie.

‘Marudanayagam’ schedule began in 1997 with much publicity.  The queen of England participated in the opening ceremony of the schedule.  But the movie schedule stopped with just the trailer. 

The reason is bombing of Bokhran by India.  Due to this an economic restriction was imposed on India.  Resultantly this hit the financial assistance Kamal Haasan expected from abroad.

No individual company was ready to allocate Rs. 50 Crores for the movie.  Kamal Haasan himself took up the issue in several interviews.

Allegations were afloat about Kamal Haasan holding discussion with Sun Pictures to produce ‘Marudanayagam’.  But it did not happen.

As is the situation, Kamal Haasan has again started mentioning ‘Marudanayagam’.  This time Kamal Haasan is to join hands with Rajini by putting Rajini himself into the cast. 

Kamal Haasan has conveyed this through an interview to Mumbai daily. 


In that Kamal Haasan mentioned

‘In ‘Marudanayagam’ there is a role especially meant for Rajini.  It will suit him well.  Before this, we have combined in 10 movies.  But in recent times we have not acted together’

 ‘None other than both of us are befitting for the movie.  There was contemplation regarding how to pair us up both.  Now I have made the move and am to act with Rajini in this venture’

Taking into account what Kamal Haasan said it seems he is to play ‘Marudanayagam’.  It seems Rajini would play an important character in the movie.
